Apple 01

Make Apple 01 at home with Flour, Butter, Baking Powder, Cornflour, and Sugar. Keep it handy for the next time you cook it.

Method (preview)

   1 tsp grated lemon rind 1 large apple (more if desired) water to cook apples sugar for apples 4 ozs sugar lemon juice 2 eggs

   Peel and slice apple, add sugar to taste, lemon rind and water, cook slowly until soft, stand aside to cool.

   Cream butter and sugar, add a little lemon juice and eggs and mix well.

   Fold in dry ingredients.

   Put half the sponge mixture into a casserole dish, spread apple mixture evenly over the mix. Cover with remaining sponge mixture.

   Bake in moderate oven 15 - 20 minutes. Serve with cream.
