Brides Cookies

Method (preview)

   Heat oven to 350 degrees. Have an ungreased baking sheet(s) ready.

   Mix together the flour, nuts, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar and salt in a large bowl; stir in vanilla.

   Shape the dough into 24 patties with fairly straight sides. Arrange on baking sheet. Bake until very lightly colored, 25 to 30 minutes.

   Transfer to a wire rack; cool slightly then sift a thick layer of confectioners' sugar over.
