Butter 08

Butter 08 comes together with Flour, Salt, Butter, Sugar, and Vanilla. Keep it handy for the next time you cook it.

Ingredients

Method (preview)

   Sift together flour and salt.

   Cream butter.

   Gradually add sugar, creaming well.

   Blend in eggs and vanilla; beat well.

   Add the dry ingredients gradually and mix thoroughly.

   Press through a cookie press onto ungreased baking sheets.

   Use the star plate forcing about 3 inches of dough into an enclosed circle (use a circular motion).

   Put half of a candied cherry on top or 1/4 teaspoon of apricot jam and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

   Using other plates from the cookie press make other shapes, for example the bar shape to make a long finger shaped cookie and dip the ends in melted chocolate and chopped nuts.

    You can also put two cookies together filled with melted chocolate.

    Bake; in a moderate oven (375F) 10 to 12 minutes until delicately browned.
