Gumdrop 02

Make Gumdrop 02 at home with Sugar, Applesauce, Flour, Cinnamon, and Baking Soda. Scale it up or down for the number of people at the table.

Ingredients

• 2 cup
• 1 1/2 cup
• 3 1/2 cup
• 1 tsp
• 1 tsp
• 1/2 tsp
• 1 lb

Method (preview)

   1 pound gum drops (remove black licorice drops)

   Use small gum drops or cut in pieces and dust with flour.

   Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

   Cream together shortening and sugar.

   Blend in eggs and applesauce.

   Blend well into creamed mixture flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, soda and salt.

   Fold in nuts and gumdrops.

   Put mixture in prepared pan(s).

   Bake at 350 degrees for about 2 hours or until pick comes out clean.

    Cool slightly and remove cake from pan and cool on rack.
