Method (preview)

   Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar. Cream again.

   Sift dry ingredients together. Gradually add to creamed mixture.

   Stir in nuts.

   Chill 1/2 hour.

   Shape into 1" balls and place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.

   Flatten balls to 1/3" thick with glass dipped in sugar.
