   Thoroughly cream together butter, shortening and sugar.

   Add vanilla and salt.

   Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in flour; mix well.

   Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.

   Flatten with the bottom of a glass.

   Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes until edges are delicately brown.

   Remove immediately from cookie sheet.
