   Put all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook until thick. Put in a baked pie shell.

   Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in sugar,

   Do not underbeat. Beat in vanilla. Place on top of vinegar filling.

   Bake about 10 minutes or until delicate brown. Cool away from draft.
