Wine Drop

A home-style Wine Drop made with Soda, Salt, Sugar, Sour Milk, and Flour. Scale it up or down for the number of people at the table.

   Cream the shortening and sugar, beat in the egg, beat in the molasses, beat in the sour milk, stir together all the dry ingredients and the currants, and mix the dry into the wet.

   Drop by teaspoons on ungreased sheets and bake at 350 F. No time was given in the recipe I clipped, and I usually don't time things anyway but just go "by looks".
