Chocolate Brownie Oatmeal Cookies

Method (preview)

   In large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and sugars until creamy.

   Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

   Add melted chocolate; mix well.

   Add combined flour and baking soda; mix well.

   Add oats and nuts; mix well.

   Cover and chill at least 2 hours.

   Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

   Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

   Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are almost set, just brown around the edges.

    Centers will look moist.

    Cool 1 minute before removing to cooling racks.

    Cool completely.

    Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar, if desired. Store in container in layers with waxed paper between layers and a tight fitting lid.
