   Curry powder is a blend of numerous spices and is used to flavor many dishes, particularly those referred to as curries and which are inspired by the cooking of India. Not all curry powder blends are identical, but most commercially available in the United States include ginger, cumin, turmeric, black pepper, cayenne, and coriander.
