   Into bowl, sift together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in almonds and vanilla; work mixture with fingers until a ball of dough is formed.

   Preheat oven to 350�. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface; cut with small cookie cutter into desired shape, such as flowers. Place on greased cookie sheets.
