   Some foods, including salads, meats, cheeses, and dairy products, need to be kept chilled. Pack these cold foods with an ice pack in an insulated bag or cooler. You can also freeze cold juices to act as ice. By picnic time, the drinks will still be cold but thawed enough for drinking. Consume perishable foods within two hours of preparation; one hour if outside in temperatures above 90 degrees F.
