Although it is prudent to be concerned about the possible long-term effects of carcinogens formed during grilling, the outdoor cook also should be aware of immediate dangers to life and property. Many suggestions are common sense: Don't try to move a hot grill. Don't play Frisbee near a hot grill. Don't wear a flowing scarf when you're grilling. Don't grill near a pile of dry leaves. Don't grill on an enclosed porch.
