Sugar Cookies/state Fair of Texas

Make Sugar Cookies/state Fair of Texas at home with Sugar, Butter Or Shortening, Egg, Flour, and Salt. Serves 3. Scale it up or down for the number of people at the table.

Method (preview)

   Blend butter and sugar.

   Add egg and beat well.

   Add dry ingredients and blend well.

   Roll into 1" rolls and place in waxed paper, chill in refrigerator until firm.

   Slice into 1/2" slices.

   Sprinkle top with sugar and a dash of nutmeg.

   Bake at 350~F for 10-12 min.
