Coat frozen dinner rolls with margarine, then let rise on cookie sheets or baking pans according to the directions on package. While rolls are rising, cut bacon slices into small pieces, brown in a large frying pan or Dutch oven. When bacon is browned, drain off all grease, add ground beef to brown. As the beef is browning add chopped cabbage, chopped onion, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. When the cabbage is tender and beef is fully cooked, drain all fat and let cool. While meat mixture is cooling, shred cheese and begin rolling dinner rolls out flat on a floured board. (You can roll them one at a time or all at once). Fill each flattened roll, first with shredded cheese (1/8 cup or to taste), then with the meat mixture (approximately 1/2 cup or more). Fold the edges of the roll over the top to seal. Place each roll seam down on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. (These freeze well baked or unbaked).

Linda Says: These have been served at New Year's Eve parties in our family for years. The recipe came to my family through my sister-in-law, who got it from her mother. I'm sure the original recipe included a dinner roll recipe. Thank goodness for the invention of frozen rolls.
