• 1.0 pkg Chopped Pitted Dates
• 0.5 cup Flaked Coconut
• 0.5 cup Sugar
• 4.0 tbsp Butter

   In skillet, combine dates, coconut, sugar, butter, egg and salt. Cook and stir over medium low heat until mixture thickens and bubbles, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in crisp rice cereal, walnuts and vanilla. Cool 10 minutes. For each cookie, use about 1 tablespoon date mixture and form into a strawberry shape. (For shaping ease, keep fingers moistened.) Roll each cookie in red sugar crystals. Trim with green frosting leaves. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
